It was fitted to MK.1 (1966-68) cars for both the UK \u0026amp; USA markets. It also was fitted to early MK.2 cars (1968-69) for the UK market and was not available in the USA for cars built after 1969. It was a fixed seat and had no provision for headrests. The seat is of a funny design in that it did not have a side bolster on the side near the transmission tunnel. There was a bolster fitted not to the seat but a separate padded piece which was bolted to the tunnel itself. If necessary this can be recovered separately. If you are replacing original seat covers you will definately need a new set of foams as the originals will now probably be all over the floor underneath the seats. Originally the side bolster foams were made from a moulded style chip foam which disintegrates over time. Check your seat straps too. We would recommend that you have these covers and foams professionally fitted as they do need care to get the right result. Originally, the side bolsters were made from a moulded chip foam, which in the 1960's was new technology. However, over the years this technology was not that good in that the glue holding the chips together came apart and consequently these moulded items disintegrated and you will probably find foam chips under your seat if they haven't been changed in the meantime. The kit we have developed from more modern foams needs to be sculptured around the frame. The centre sections are quite straight forward, but we would suggest you contact a professional trimmer to help you fit these and the seat covers. It was a fixed seat and had no provision for headrests. The seat is of a funny design in that it did not have a side bolster on the side near the transmission tunnel. There was a bolster fitted not to the seat but a separate padded piece which was bolted to the tunnel itself. If necessary this can be recovered separately. If you are replacing original seat covers you will definately need a new set of foams as the originals will now probably be all over the floor underneath the seats. Originally the side bolster foams were made from a moulded style chip foam which disintegrates over time. Check your seat straps too. We would recomend that you have these covers and foams professionally fitted as they do need care to get the right result.
